St Patrick's Day Learning Stations Pack
Introduce your students to "Saint Patrick's Learning Stations", a set of six engaging educational activities designed for children aged 10 to 12, centered around the fun and folklore of Saint Patrick's Day.
Roll and Draw: This creative station includes one roll and draw board game alongside a drawing sheet. Students can play individually or in groups, using dice to determine elements of a leprechaun they will draw in sequence – from hats to shoes, then accessories, and finally setting them within a themed background. They're encouraged to creatively interpret physical features and clothing and share their creations through oral descriptions.
Most Wanted Cards: Engage students with 18 description cards paired with 18 leprechaun pictures. Set in a match-and-find format, each child picks a card and uses the detailed descriptions to identify their matching leprechaun from the collective table display.
Scramble Sentences: This literacy activity involves 14 scrambled sentence cards and an answer sheet. Students reorder the words to form correct sentences, enhancing their language and sentence structure skills. They can then self-assess with the provided answer sheet.
Chase the Word: A decoding challenge where students unravel secret words hidden within scrambled letters on 14 game cards. Utilising a unique 'spy clover' with red filter decoders, this game enhances word recognition and decoding skills. Students verify their answers using pegs or by circling the correct word.
Information Cards: Develop communication and inquiry skills with 18 leprechaun-themed information cards. Each card presents facts and questions for students to explore in pairs, encouraging interactive learning and information exchange.
Brain Box: A memory and quick-response game featuring 10 double-sided game cards, each depicting a Saint Patrick's scene with true or false questions. Students get a short time to memorise details before entering a question round, promoting attention to detail and recall abilities.
